Although we have other toys more suitable for strong chewers, this rope toy is made of thick cotton and can take a beating. If you have a larger dog, you might like to try another toy for chewing, smaller dogs may find this toy lasts quite long as a chew toy.
Yes! While this is a "Mega Rope", it can be safely enjoyed by all ages and sizes. Little dogs and young puppies may find it heavy to cart around but may still enjoy playing and chewing on it.

In fact, dogs who played tug were found to have more confident interactions with their owners. It increases strength and provides mental stimulation and some outlet from their prey drive. From a biomechanics stand point, you should avoid quick, jerking movements, lifting your dog while they're latched, shaking them or any excessive play. You should play within your dog's ability to avoid muscle or skeletal injury.
